This web site is for those who enjoy the sounds of wildlife and particularly those that like to record the sounds of wildlife. I am hoping to develop this website so that it covers the world but for the time being it will centre around the sounds that I have recorded.

| History
I recorded my first wildlife sound in 1974, a Song Thrush, and I was hooked. I enjoy the field craft needed to capture the sound, my basic hunting skills coming to the fore. I've been honing them ever since, setting myself new targets, getting my microphones nearer the subject without disturbance to the subject. Not always an easy option.

| Noise
Over the last 25 years or so, I have listened to our world becoming more and more polluted by human generated noise ---- planes, cars, chainsaws and humans themselves, we do love talking, don't we? Will we ever be able to sit at a place for even a couple of hours and not hear anything except the sounds of nature, would you like it to be so? Is there anywhere in the British Isles where you could stand for a week, 24/7 and be totally free of man-made sound? If you know of such a place please let me know.

| Purpose
1. To help people who want to enjoy the sounds of wildlife. 2. To provide contacts for these like minded individuals. 3. To try to persuade people that sound quality is all important. 4. To help those who wish to make our world a place with less manmade sounds escaping into the environment. 5. “To provide enjoyment.” |
